Safety on BlipDate
BlipDate is built so you meet people on your terms, in public, with nothing given away before you agree.
18+ only
Everyone gives their birth date when they sign up. Before your first introduction, you verify that you’re 18 or over: depending on where you live, with a digital ID wallet, an age estimate made on your phone, or an ID check. We keep the result, not your images.
What the app never reveals
- Where you are or have been. Nobody sees your place, not even after a mutual yes.
- Who is nearby. Counts are rounded ranges and never show a person.
- That you’re ready to meet.
- Your answers to the host.
- Whether someone said no. Every ending looks the same.
- Whether a person you noticed is on BlipDate at all.
Meeting safely
- Meet at the suggested public place, or another public place you both choose.
- Tell a friend where you’re going and when.
- Make your own way there and home.
- Keep details like your address to yourself until you’re ready to share them.
- In a new chat, the app warns you about messages with phone numbers, links or requests for money.
- You can leave whenever you want. You don’t owe anyone a meeting.
- If you’re in danger, call your local emergency number first.
Block and report
You can block or report someone from the host screen and from chat. Blocking ends the introduction or chat and keeps you apart for good: no counts, nudges or introductions between you, and the other person isn’t told.
Reporting sends what you flagged to our moderators, and blocks the person too.
Moderation and appeals
Photos and profile text are checked before anyone sees them. Moderators review reports and can remove content, warn, suspend or ban.
Whenever we restrict your account or your content, we tell you why. You can appeal in the app, and a different moderator reviews the appeal.
Safety features are never behind a paywall.
