Privacy promises
A plain summary of how BlipDate treats your data. It isn’t the legal privacy policy.
Placeholder The full privacy policy will be published before launch.
Places, not coordinates
To find places near you, your phone sends only an approximate position, rounded to about 500 m, and it isn’t stored or logged. What’s saved is the place you chose. Ended check-ins are deleted within a day, so there’s no location history.
Counts are rounded
Counts are shown as ranges, and anything under five reads “fewer than 5”, so a number can never point to a person. Nobody sees anyone’s distance or direction.
Sensitive by default
On a dating app almost anything can reveal something personal, so we treat all of your data as special-category data under the GDPR, and ask for your explicit consent before we use it to run the service.
No trackers, no ads
The app and this site contain no advertising and no third-party tracking code, and we never sell your data. This site sets no cookies.
Bluetooth stays on our side
While you’re ready to meet and the app is open, your phone may use Bluetooth to help confirm that two people are at the same venue and to catch fake accounts. Nobody is ever shown what Bluetooth found.
Quiet notifications
Notifications never contain names, places or what anyone wrote.
Your data, your call
In the app you can download your data as a file, or delete your account. Deleting hides your profile at once; your data is erased after 30 days, and signing in during that time restores the account.
